Nancy Steidl – My Story

 I have spent over 25 years working with business owners and entrepreneurs, helping them build strong foundations, develop effective strategies, and turn ideas into sustainable businesses. My passion for business began early, driven by curiosity, ambition, and a desire to understand how ideas could be transformed into ventures. This has shaped my career, from building and running my own businesses to advising and supporting others on their business journeys.

Alongside my work as an International Business Consultant, I specialise in intellectual property, particularly in relation to AI and robotics. I am passionate about helping businesses understand the importance of intellectual property, identify what needs protecting, and make informed decisions about their IP as technology continues to develop.

I am also the author of The Art of Analogies in Business: How to Start a Business in Layman’s Terms, which uses analogies to make business concepts easier to understand. I have contributed to publications including Startups Magazine and Trademark News, writing about business strategy, intellectual property, and AI in the IP field. I also share my knowledge through speaking engagements, including the Successful Minds talk show and the She Is Unstoppable podcast.

Since 2018, I have been Managing Director of The Business Mission, my London-based consultancy. Through the consultancy, I work with startups and established businesses on business strategy, structure, intellectual property, and contracts. My approach combines practical experience gained from running businesses with extensive academic study and specialist knowledge of intellectual property.

Academically, I hold an MBA in International Business Management from the International Business Management Institute in Berlin, a Master’s Degree in International Business Law, and a Master’s Degree in International Intellectual Property Law from the University of London. I have also studied Emerging Economics at Harvard University and am currently completing SQE 1 and 2 as part of my route to qualification as a UK lawyer.

Throughout my career, I have been driven by a belief in strong foundations, clear strategy, continuous learning, and practical solutions. I enjoy taking complex business and intellectual property concepts and making them easier to understand, so entrepreneurs and business leaders can make informed decisions and move forward with confidence.

Based in the UK, I work with clients internationally, bringing a global perspective to business and intellectual property challenges and opportunities.
